The Senior Special Assistant SSA to the Governor of Bayelsa state on Entertainment and Culture Mr Asu Ekiye (The Prince of the Niger Delta) came into the Bayelsa Political space unannounced and unheralded but his silent effort in repositioning the industry in Bayelsa state is gradually gaining momentum as he rallies stake holders in the entertainment circles for a round table on the way forward for the industry .
The SSA who is one of the best Known Ijaw Musicians from Bayelsa state, and also a two time, back to Back winner of the Johannesburg based and organized Channel O Award as the Best African Gospel artiste, just rounded off a media tour intimating the media of the agenda of Governor Seriake DICKSON Administration in repositioning the entertainment industry in the state.

Now, it's difficult to piece together what is going to become of Zimbabwe after now, however history gives us a peek at the key actors in the drama currently playing out.

Mugabe the deposed President of Zimbabwe, Constantine Chiwenga the Head of the Zimbabwean Military and Mnangagwa the sacked Vice President of Zimbabwe are all friends, very good friends, they are comrades. The three men were in their 20's when they entered the bushes and took part in the liberation struggle to free Zimbabwe from white rule. Mugabe who was initially the Sect General of ZANU PF, became the head of state, the other two men were equally given plum positions of power and have continued as the 3 musketeers presiding over the destiny of Zimbabwe for 37 years.

Sometime in the 90's - Mugabe, the first musketeer fell in love with his personal secretary who happened to be another man's wife at the time, the lady's name was Grace and she became his mistress. While Mugabe was still married Grace had children for him. In 1996 they became man and wife after the death of Mugabe's first spouse.

But Grace was no ordinary mistress turned wife, she was not ready to take a backseat, she turned herself into Mugabe's political confidant, she used the bed and made her way to the very centre of Zimbabwean politics straining the relationship between Mugabe and his two comrades.

IS ANOTHER REVOLUTION IMMINENT IN THE NIGERIAN CHURCH?- AZUKA ONWUKA

 

The tithe debate kick-started by the radio presenter known as Daddy Freeze is causing ripples in the Nigerian church. It has done one big thing among Christians: It has reduced the fear that has enveloped Christians for decades – the fear ingrained in them not to question whatever is said by the spiritual leaders – for fear of incurring the wrath of God.
In spite of the fact that the mission of Jesus Christ was to set the captive free (from sin, eternal damnation, bondage, fear, baseless traditions, sickness, etc), right from the time the Roman Empire took over the control of the church till this moment, most religious leaders have employed fear and emotional blackmail as tools to hold the people captive. From generation to generation, someone rises to open the eyes of the people and set them free, but soon after, the same person who set them free would start a gradual process of using a different form of fear to imprison the minds of worshippers.
In 1517 (exactly 500 years ago), Martin Luther got tired of the deviation that had taken place in the Roman Catholic Church where certificates called indulgences were purchased from priests for sins by members of the church, as well as other doctrines that ran contrary to the teachings of Christ, and published the Ninety-five Theses. He knew that he could be killed for heresy for challenging the Church, which held absolute political and religious powers, yet, he was ready to die for his belief, which he saw as standing for Christ rather than standing with man-made doctrines.
