FORGET DIALOGUE. MEET THE DEMANDS OF THE NIGER DELTA AVENGERS. THAT IS WISDOM-Asu Ekiye

When you are wicked to your own fellow citizens, and you impoverish them and yet derive your major income from the resource under their land,  it is cheer foolishness. It is bad business acumen not to realise that where you make money from should be well nourished and lavishly catered for so you can be at peace to make more money from there.  The greatest paradox  and iniquity in this land is to transform an Abuja to a metropolitan pride and abandone the Niger Delta to an impoverished lot.  Left at the mercy of the Nigerian state and their Niger Delta collaborators.

Now the greatest tragedy to our collective patrimony is not that Abuja was built at our expense but that 95 percent of our oil wells and wealth are controlled by people outside the Niger Delta. Now tell me what that is. Injustice? Suppression?  Subjugation?? or colonisation? If we continue to treat the fundamental issues of Development and accessibility to oil wealth with kids glove,  then you leave me with no option but to  submit to you all that Militancy will not end. If you like kill the Avengers others will arise. And this is inspite of Spurious drain pipes that you call interventionist agencies. Like NDDC, Ministry Of Niger Delta and even the 13percent derivation etc.
Why is the opposition to certain beneficial provision of the Petroleum Industry Bill only coming from the North? Why was the First maritime University set up in Nigeria located at the heart of ijaw Land scrapped  with no justifiable reason?  You gave amnesty training to some repentant militants without a job. What does that amount to?  Honestly, Let's forget about this fire brigade dialogue measures.  I think what the Niger Delta needs is not just financial apeasement to agitators, which we have done repeatedly and has failed. What we need is a well thought wholistic developement plan and actual projects to give a sense value to the people.  If we continue to make the same mistake we have made over the years and by successive regimes and think that by settling and paying off some agitators or militants we are solving the Niger Delta problem, we are only postponing the dooms day.  This divide and rule will not take us anywhere.  The solution is simple.  Develop the people, develop the Land.
